Giessen as a Place of Refuge

The learning and memorial site Notaufnahmelager Gießen sheds light on the history of one of Germany’s central reception centres from 1946 to 2018. For the permanent exhibition, I designed several themed walls that span from historical refugee experiences to current debates about Europe’s external borders. I researched image and media sources, evaluated eyewitness interviews and helped the museum to convey complex global contexts, such as the displacement consequences of climate change, in a clear and tangible way.

We Are Now. Jewish Frankfurt from the Enlightenment to the Present

The Jewish Museum Frankfurt am Main opened its new permanent exhibition in October 2020, displaying selected items from the Frank Family Centre’s collection. Everyday objects, paintings, photos, books and letters tell of the lives of Anne Frank’s ancestors and family. I researched the objects and biographies and helped the museum to tell the stories in an easily understandable and engaging way.

"Nachgefragt: Frankfurt und der NS."

The exhibition of the Young Museum of the Historical Museum Frankfurt am Main (9 December 2021 – 4 February 2024) was aimed at people aged 10 and over to introduce them to the topic of National Socialism in an age-appropriate way. I researched the biographies of children and young people who lived in Frankfurt am Main during the National Socialist era.

Inherited. Purchased. Stolen? – Everyday Objects and their Nazi Past

From 17 May to 14 October 2018, the Historical Museum Frankfurt am Main exhibited the results of its provenance research on the painting and silver collection. I supported the museum in selecting exhibits, developing an exhibition concept and researching the biographies of dispossessed Jewish families.
